Leggings are one of my favorite wardrobe staples. They keep you warm, move with your body, and hold you in all the right places. Since I prefer the opacity and resilience of athletic leggings like the ones they offer at Fabletics. I used to think that leggings belonged solely at the gym. Luckily I’ve moved past that way of thinking; leggings are the perfect base for any outfit from the office to a night out. Here are some ideas on how to style your leggings outside the gym…
At Sunday brunch
I honestly can’t believe I ever brunched sans leggings. When I’m on my second Bloody Mary and halfway through my crepes, the last thing I want is restrictive clothing making my Sunday morning less than easy. I like to keep my brunch look simple, pairing an oversized chunky knit sweater over my leggings and accessorizing with stacked-heel boots and oversized sunglasses. Wrap a scarf around my inevitably messy weekend hair and I’m set for Sunday Funday.

Without the restriction of jeans and mini-skirts, you’re able to really get down whether you prefer hip-hop or slam dancing. Be concert ready by pairing high-waist leggings with a cute crop top, comfortable creeper sneakers, a denim jacket, and a choker to accessorize. Not only will you be able to move, you’ll be catching everyone’s eye as you do it.
If you work them right, your leggings can even be appropriate in a more casual office environment. The trick is pairing them with crisp, preppy counterparts to take the focus off the fact that you’re rocking workout clothes at your 9 to 5. Top your outfit with a long cut Oxford shirt that hits right about mid-thigh. Then cozy up with a solid, long cardigan layered over and accessorize with a tasteful pair of heels. On days like this where I wear a lot of classic basics, I like to add a pop of color with an interesting lipstick; but that’s just me!
